We have received messages requesting a makeup tutorial and I was so excited because I love makeup and I love trying different products. I worked as a makeup artist for a while but I am not a professional by all means but we love the idea of helping you feel pretty, wether that is with tips on how to style your pregnancy bump, or even with makeup tips! So.. are you ready?! Here is a list of the exact products I used on our cute little sister Melanie (pregnant model):
18- Satin Lip Pencil (Palais Royal)
Winter can be harsh for your skin so make sure you moisturize and that you are drinking plenty of water to keep your face looking healthy and young! After using a moisturizer I put just a little bit of foundation and the strobe clean on my finger tips and mix the two together before applying it on her face and I do skip the area around the eye! You should immediately see a beautiful full coverage glow.
Next are the eyebrows. Melanie (our baby sister and MyChicBump model) has been blessed with gorgeous full eyebrows so for the most time I will use the Mini Duo Angled brush by Anastasia Beverly Hills and use the brow powder duo to fill in her eyebrows just to add a bit of color. To keep the little hairs intact I always apply a clear brow gel. Sometimes even the most perfect brows need to be groomed! If you are like me and you don’t have naturally beautiful shaped eyebrows and could use help in that area let us know and leave a comment below and we will make another tutorial!
Now let’s move on to the the eyes. Always apply an eyeshadow primer. It will keep your eyeshadow stay all day and it will also keep it from creasing. When it comes to primer I always say “don’t go cheap”. I have tried a lot of different primers and I had to learn the hard way. Believe me, it is worth the investment and it will last for a long time! My favorite primer right now is the Eyeshadow Primer- Urban Decay which is the one I used on Melanie and Nars smudgedproof eyeshadow base. I applied the Primer with my fingertip, then I apply it all over the entire eyelid from lashes all the way to the bottom of her brows. It will go on nice and smooth and dries down to a very soft, velvety finish. It only takes just a few seconds for it to dry. I do let it dry completely before applying eyeshadow. With a flat shadow brush, apply “YDk” from the Naked2 Eyeshadow Palette- Urban Decay on the entire lid. Do not go up to the brow bone though. With a small tapered pencil brush, apply Blackout ( Naked2 Eyeshadow Palette- Urban Decay) the crease with a wind shield wiper motion into the crease. Follow your crease from the outer crease corner all the way to the inner crease. With a blending brush, blend out the shadow on each ends towards the temples. Up next I used the Magic Marc’er Precision Pen (Blacquer)- Marc Jacobs Beauty to the top lid. Start from the inner corner and winging it outwards.
The concealer is next. Melanie is using a Creamy Concealer Kit (Medium Tan)- Bobbi Brown under the eyes and down the center of the nose which I applied using a concealer brush. To blend it so it looks more natural I used a damp beauty blender and then added Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder- MAC on top using a powder brush.
Next I used Quick Liner For Eyes Intense (Intense Chocolate)- Clinique under the her eyes and to finish with the eyes I used an eyelash curler and then I used one of my favorite mascaras which is the Definicils’ High Definition Mascara (Black)- Lancome I applied it on the upper and bottom lashes. We are almost done! I love contouring. I used the Bronzing Powder (Light Tan)- Bobbi Brown. I applied it under her cheekbones, side of nose, forehead and under her jaw (don’t forget to blend). For the blush I used Mineralize Blush (Gleeful)- MAC on the apples of her cheekbones.
Next I used the Shimmering Skin Perfector (Moonstone)- Becca which is a beautiful highlighter. I applied the highlighter on her cheekbones, bridge of nose, on her chin, upper lid, inner tear ducts and brow bones! For the lips I used 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil (Venom)- Urban Decay and Satin Lip Pencil (Palais Royal). Voila!
