Beauty

I am so happy to share with you our first beauty post!  I have always wanted to try new hair styles but since it took me a while to grow my hair out after I cut it super short a few years ago..I  have been scared to cut it short again!  I love having long hair.  My favorite way to style my hair is in soft waves.  Nothing fancy.  But it’s so fun to try new things!  I love this braided crown look.  I feel like I have short hair again!  I teamed up with Pureza Salon & Medi Spa to help with this hair tutorial.  The steps are pretty simple and there are lots of pictures to explain the process.  Ready?  Here are the products we used:

  • Kerastase Nutritive Touche Perfection– It minimizes the appearance of split ends, conditions, and protects hair against further damage.  Apply this to the ends.  This is the firs step!
  • Kerastase Mousse Bouffante– I love this product! It gives you buildable volume and body to your hair and it adds fullness and structure without weighting your hair down.  Plus it gives you UV and heat protection!  Apply a generous amount to the roots and whatever is left in your hands swipe it on the rest of your hair.  We used two full pumps.  This is your second step.
  • Kerastase Laque Hair Spray–  This is going to be the last step.  This look won’t be completed without spraying some of this amazing hair spray.  It is a flexible long-lasting spray that will set your hair style in place for the rest of the day!
  • Bobby pins, a plastic hair band and a curling wand.  We used the Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron that had a 1 1/2 in. barrel.  If you are looking for an inexpensive great curling iron.. this one is it!  It’s amazing.

1- Once you have applied the first two products mentioned above this picture, wrap hair around your two fingers.  2- Use a blow dryer in a low to medium heat setting.  This will help create some soft curls so that you don’t have to use the curling iron as much thus preventing unnecessary heat damage to your hair.  3- Next, use a curling iron that is 1 1/2 in. and start curling your hair towards the back (away from the face).

4- Spray the Kerastase hair spray or any hair spray with flexible hold.

5- Pass your fingers through your hair and then separate as much hair as you want in the front.  6- Grab a good amount of hair and use fingers to brush it all to the opposite side.  7- Start braiding hair from left to right.  Each time grabbing hair from the front and back.

8- Make sure the braid is tight.  9- Keep braiding your hair around towards the opposite side of where you started.

10- Once you have reached the end of the braid, secure your braid with a small plastic hair band.  11- Now the fun part, start pulling on the braid from where you started to the end to make sure it’s puffy and a little messy.  12- Bring the braid around and secure it with LOTS of bobby pins!

13-  Don’t forget to also place bobby pins to the back of your head.  Once your hair style is set spray once again your favorite hair spray.  Mine is the Kerastase Laque Hair Spray.  And you are done!
