Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

daytime smokey eye tutorial2

I am so happy to post our first makeup tutorial!  I am a makeup junkie.  I love collecting good quality makeup.  I usually wear minimal makeup during the week but I love to get all glammed up on the weekends!  Kind of makes sense since during the week I am running around my kiddos, making food, getting my faced touched by their little hands and getting endless kisses on my cheeks.  We always plan to do several activities during the weekend so it gives me a chance to get all dolled up and practice making different looks.

My go to foundation right now is the Matte Perfection Foundation from Frankie Rose Cosmetics.  I have been using it for almost 3 months!  I was first introduced to this cosmetic line by the girls that work at Pureza (where I get my hair done).  After testing a few of their products at the salon I decided to get a couple of their makeup products! I loved it so much I knew I had to share this with you guys.  I feel so lucky to have received a pretty package from Frankie Rose Cosmetics  a few weeks later with other goodies to try!  This is a picture I posted on Instagram a few weeks ago.

Here are the products I used to create this smokey eye look:

Face: Matte Perfection Foundation in the shade “oatmeal blend”- Apply with a damp beauty blender for a flawless finish

Eyes: I primed my entire lid with Paint Pot by MAC.  Then using a precision brush I used the eye shadow “daze” from the 5 Shade Shadow Palette and put all over the lid area.  Next I used the color “steamy” which is a deep chocolate matte brown which I really love and buffed it on the crease.  Take a taper brush and blend, blend, blend!  Next, I used my ring finger to tap the eye shadow “steel” on the center of the lid.  It has the perfect amount of shimmer and glitter to add that perfect pop.  I only added this shadow to the middle because I didn’t want glitter all over my lid making me look like a disco ball 🙂 Now let’s talk about one of the best eyeliners I have ever owned.  The Limited Waterproof Gel Liner is the bomb!  It can be a little intimidating to use gel liners at first but practice, practice and you will love it as much as I do.  This gel liner stays put all day, it doesn’t smudge, it doesn’t fade, it stays to it’s true black color (“midnight”).  It comes with a small brush which I used to apply the eye liner on the lash line (don’t forget the tear line too).  You can add eye liner to the bottom too for a more glam effect!  To complete the look I used the Lush lengthening Mascara in black to the top and bottom lashes.

Concealer: Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer is a full coverage concealer.  I apply it with a concealer brush and then use a damp beauty blender for a natural finish.  It’s my favorite concealer at the moment!  I use the color “medium”

Contour:  Makeup Forever Sculpting Kit #2 – I wanted a soft contouring look so I lightly applied it with an angle brush to hallows of my cheeks, under my chin and nose.

Blush: A soft pink blush is perfect for this look.  I like the one by Bobbi Brown in “Pastel Pink”

Lips: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick #001 “Nude Attitude”. And some gloss on top by Stila in “Apricot”

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the shade “Soft Brown”
