celebrations collage part 3

I thought I could post all pictures of the last few family celebrations we had but I didn’t realized we had so many events and soooo many photos!  So I decided to split it into two parts.  Vanessa turned 5 on Dec. 6th and it was “The best day ever!”  She has been patiently (not really) waiting for her birthday for MONTHS!  I kid you not, she has asked me everyday in the last 5 months “In how many days is my birthday?” “When is my birthday again?” So when it actually was December 6th Nessa and I were very happy that her birthday had finally come!  Birthdays are such a big deal to me.  It’s important for me to make my kids feel like they are the most important person in the world on that day.  I remember for our son’s 1st birthday I was so excited to make it special for him and we were dirt poor college students and I stretched that $20 dollar bill like no other! hahaha.  But honestly, the budget doesn’t matter on this day, it can be $20 or $80.  What matters most is that they feel loved and that they know how much their dad and I love them for ever and ever and always.

There are 3 things that are crucial on their birthdays: A birthday party theme of their choice.  A piñata.  And a pretty cake.

I grew up having a piñata on my birthday for as long as I can remember.. well, not as an adult of course.  My kids absolutely love it and I would say they feel like it’s the best part about their birthday!  Vanessa changed her mind a couple times about what she wanted the party theme to be (okay, like 400 times).  Her “final” choice was “Maleficent”.. No joke.  She wanted a black birthday party in a forest she said… I didn’t buy it and I did laugh a little.  I took her to Hobby Lobby to buy some Christmas wrapping paper and she spotted a shelf with the cutest girliest Christmas decorations I had ever seen.  “Winter wonderland! Candy winter wonderland!!!!” she screamed.  I was much happier with her last choice. The day was a complete success. She was so moved with all the details and work I had done to make it all pretty for her and it was so sweet to hear her say “Thank you” so many times during  and after her birthday party.  Ahhh I just love her to pieces.  Not to mention she is also the best selfie partner there is.  Really!

XO
