My sweet Mother in law, Judy shared with me this quick recipe two years ago. I has become part of our Christmas family tradition since then! This is one of my husband’s favorite holiday treats so I always make sure to make plenty during Christmas time because I also plan on sharing these treats with some friends from church. All you need are three ingredients: Pretzels (4-5 cups), white chocolate bark (1tray) and Heath Bars (6).
Would you believe me if I told you I had never tried a Heath bar before my mother in law made this recipe 2 years ago?! Toffee and milk chocolate?.. yuuuum!
White chocolate bark taste better than white chocolate chips in my opinion!
STEPS: *I almost feel silly typing down the steps since it’s so simple. I’m sure you know what those steps are by just looking at the pictures *
-Crush the Heath bars into small lumps/medium size crumbs. My brother in law, Michael put them in a bag and slammed the bag on the granite counter top a few times haha. If you find a better way to do this, share it with me will ya? 🙂
– Cut the white chocolate bark in 4 pieces. This will make it easier to melt. I like to use half of the bark first and do the first batch of treats. Then, once the white chocolate is gone I microwave the other half. Microwave it for 30 seconds at a time to make sure you don’t over heat it. Each time you take it out of the microwave, use a small spoon and move the chocolate around and put it back in for another 30 seconds. I microwaved it for a total of a 1 min. and 30 seconds. Might take less or longer time depending on the white chocolate you used.
– Put a few pretzels at a time in the bowl of melted white chocolate and use two forks to lift them. Place them on wax paper.
-Sprinkle your crushed heath bars on top.
-Let it dry for about 20 minutes and that’s it!
Check back tomorrow for another quick Holiday gift idea for your neighbors. Thanks for reading!
