The title says it all.  No matter what skin issue you may face, this foundation will make your skin look flawless.  You will be ready to get your picture taken at any angle.  Trying a new foundation can make many people nervous.  I get it, believe me.  My skin is acne prone and on the normal/dry side.  Trying new beauty products comes with the job and for the most part it’s been a incredible journey!  So when I tell you that this foundation works, you have to trust me.  It works.  I used it for an entire week and I did not break out.  I used a couple of different techniques throughout the week and I was able to come up with a technique that will guarantee no cakey-ness.

I asked my cousin Jimena to be my model.  I really wanted to try it on someone who had different skin concerns than me.  She has a lot of texture and some acne scaring.  To be honest, I never noticed her skin issues very much because she is always so happy and smiley that you can’t help but just see her as gorgeous!  Not to mention her contagious laughter just makes her even more beautiful.  But I was excited for the challenge.  This was the first time I was going to use the Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation on someone else.  I originally planed on filming this but I had the wrong memory card size at home and it did not capture the rest of the tutorial.  Such a bummer! No worries though,  since then I have been better at planning ahead and I have already filmed 2 videos.  Although I wasn’t able to film this look, we were able to capture some photos afterwards to show you the finish look.

The first thing you should know is that this is a medium to full coverage.  In order to cover as many “imperfections” as you can without the foundation looking cakey you need to layer the foundation carefully one layer at a time.  First, dampen the Miracle Complexion Sponge and make sure it’s big and fluffy.  Use two pumps (not a lot comes out) of the Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation directly to the top of you hand.  Use your ring finger and scoop some of the foundation and place a few dots on your skin (usually 3-4 dots on each side, 3 on the forehead , and 1 on the chin).  Grab your beauty blender and blend away.  Next, spray a generous amount of Fix Plus from Mac Cosmetics on your sponge.  With the sponge, scoop the rest of the foundation and only apply it to the side or part of your skin that needs more coverage.  For  Jimena I used another pump of foundation to cover the areas that needed some extra love, like under her cheekbones and on the chin.  Once again I dampened the Miracle Complexion Sponge with the Fix Plus to apply the Studio Skin Concealer (such a good combo!).  Set the foundation and concealer with a translucent powder.  And TA-DA! You are ready to take some selfies.  If your skin is normal-dry, I would suggest using the Primer oil before you apply foundation!

Some of you guys were able to catch a little bit of the tutorial on my Snapchat!  Thank you for your sweet and encouraging comment regarding this look! Don’t miss any updates and check it out: jessicahinkson8.
