I cannot believe there is only one month before I turn 30! For most of my friends, reaching 30 was not the most exciting thing but I have been looking forward to turning 30 for a few years now. I want to go into depth as to why that is but I will leave that for my birthday post!
I have never shared my monthly goals with you but I thought it might be okay if I share some of the goals I have for the month of October leading up to my Birthday in November. I did share two of my goals with you on my Instagram stories and you guys seemed interested in hearing more so this blog post if for you. I have 3 main goals. Within those goals I have mini goals. I am basically breaking it down to small tasks so that I can accomplish these goals with more ease.
I have a routine that has worked wonders for me in the past. At the beginning of every month or on the last day of the month I sit on my comfortable couch, put on my headphones and listen to classical music while I write down my goals for the new month. During this time I like to also review the previous month. What I accomplished, what I did not accomplished, what challenges I had, what lessons I learned, and what I need to bring over to the following month. This requires zero distractions and I make sure the environment around me is one of quiet and peace. For me, that means doing this after I clean my house (or at least the living room) and after I put the children to bed. I like to light a candle because I truly believe that scented candles can create the perfect atmosphere. This is how I create the perfect writing space: A quiet home, the perfect soft music to create the mood and scented candles. This is the most valuable “ME TIME” I have. And it truly benefits those around me as much as it benefits me. A lot of my goals are centered around my husband and my children but I do make it a point to also focus on personal growth. This month I am focusing on my health.
GOOD SLEEP ROUTINE: This is something I hav been struggling for 4-5 months now.
-Take natural healthy sleep supplements to help with my bad sleeping habits 3o minutes before bed time. No later than 10:30pm
-Put the phone away and all other electronics 2o minutes before bed time.
MINIMIZE BLOATING: I refuse to go into my 30’s with a bloated belly lol. I feel so unattractive when my belly is swollen.
-Start the day with a tall glass of warm water and fleshed squeezed lime.
-1 large cup of green juice a day (I make my own)
-Drink warm water throughout the day. This is more gentle on my gut than cold water. Warm water helps me digest food better and it helps my muscles relax.
-Eat less carbs.
STAY ACTIVE: The key is to not over do it just because I want to achieve some unrealistic goal before I turn 30.
-Cardio 2-3 times a week
-Ideally 8-10 thousand steps a day. This isn’t hard to do if you are constantly moving. Run errands, clean the house, try to limit the times you sit down and stay active throughout the day.
Taking the time to write down goals for the month has been so rewarding. It’s more than just achieving goals for me (although this is important). It allows me to be more organize and it creates major metal clarity. It also motivates me to be productive every single day. Going into a new month with positive energy and a clear head is essential for me in order to be a better Mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. And Equally as important, writing down my thoughts and my goals reminds me to be more kind to my self.
