I really enjoyed Easter weekend. I enjoyed the celebration, being together with my family, my siblings and their kids and I most definitely enjoyed the food! I ate foods that I know triggers my acne. I ate gluten and sugar knowing very well that my body reacts quickly to those types of food. But sometimes I just want to live a little and enjoy delicious food like everyone else. The next day I woke up with huge zits in between my brows and on my forehead and some small pimples around my nose as well. Sugar is the worst. But it’s also super delicious haha.
I no longer freak out when I break out. I know exactly what to put on my skin and what to eat in order to clear my skin. I was in more of a rush than normal to have smooth, clear skin the following week because I had a photoshoot that Friday! I had 4 days to clear my skin. I asked you on IG Stories if you wanted me to share my beauty tips for clearing skin ASAP and all of you said YES! Well of course we all want to have healthy skin!
I keep it really simple guys. The last thing I wan to do is over complicate my diet, my schedule or my life. So if you are looking for beauty tips that are easy to add to your lifestyle you have come to the right place. To the right blog! :). What I eat in oder to clear my skin fast is so boring and yet that is why it’s so wonderful. You don’t need to be a chef in order to do this. You just need to stay consistent for a few days and you will see results.
This is what always works for me. We are all different and we have different food sensitivities, different levels of stress, etc. But if you follow my routine I guarantee you will see significant results. You might not look like you have super model skin in 4 days but no worries… you will get there. I will keep on sharing more beauty tips all throughout the year.
How you start your day is very important. Starting with a tall cup of warm water with fresh lemon or lime juice will do wonders for your digestive system. You want to go to the bathroom in the morning before you put food in your body. Think of this as your morning laxative. The thing is, the more you poop the better your skin will look. When you have inflammation in your gut it will show in your skin. The healthier your gut is the better. Not just for your skin but for your overall health as well. This is the first step in order to get rid of pimples and stubborn zits!
Bloating not natural. Let me say that a little louder for those in the back. BLOATING IS NOT NATURAL!. Your body is telling you something. You are eating something that is causing inflammation. Perhaps you are eating healthy but you are not aware that combining certain foods makes it harder for your body to break it down and to digest it properly. The lemon or lime juice helps the saliva break down food from the night before. Again, this is your healthy, natural morning laxative. You need it. Take care of your gut before you invest in expensive products or treatments. Invest time and energy in the health of your gut (SKIN!). Limes and lemons are also great because they have vitamin C and antioxidants that will support your body’s immune system.
Let’s move on to step two shall we? Drinking cucumber juice everyday for a week will do WONDERS for your skin. Nothing clears my skin faster than cucumber juice. I call this drink “super model skin in a cup”. I receive the most compliments about my skin when I am drinking this consistently. I have a blog post regarding cucumber juice here. But basically cucumber juice is extremely hydrating. Making your skin look healthy and supple. It also detoxes your body from pesticide, reduces inflammation, it’s amazing for your gut and it does not taste bad at all. It has a bit of a sweet flavor. I am telling you this works wonders. It’s not just for those with acne but for anyone looking for a natural anti-aging drink! My skin looks so smooth and radiant when I drink this CONSISTENTLY. Back in November I did a cucumber juice challenge and drank cucumber juice every day for the entire month. All I have to say is WOW. My body, my skin reacted so well that I didn’t even break out when I got my period that month. Cucumber juice has other healing powers. It’s rich in Vitamin A, C, K, Magnesium, Potassium, it will heal so many gut issues like indigestion, ulcers, gastritis, and heartburn. If you are serious about clearing your skin fast start each day for a week with warm water with lemon and then drink a tall glass of cucumber juice. If you have a juicer 3 regular size cucumbers will make one serving or 2 large cucumbers will make one serving. If you do not have a juicer do not stress. When I first started drinking my “super model drink” I just used a regular blender. Just make sure to peel the skin first and add a little bit of water. You don’t need much since cucumber is mostly water.
Step three is easy and delicious. Eat lots of food rich in Vitamin A! My top food suggestions are: Broccoli, spinach, and sweet potato. Eat these 3 things every day. Eat lots of it. Maybe don’t go crazy with the sweet potatoes though :). Of course you will be eating protein as well and other foods but Vitamin A types of food should be a priority for a few days. You have to stay away from processed sugar. I know this is is hard to do (why does it have to taste so good?!) But you will thank me later. I am not trying to change your entire lifestyle. I’m just saying, for a few days replace it with raw honey. I add raw honey to my baked sweet potato and I also like to add chia seeds (fiber), and nuts (healthy fat) as toppings. Oh I am craving this right now. Good thing my sweet husband bough some sweet potatoes the other day.
The last step can get a bit tricky. Step four is controlling your stress. You can be the healthiest eater and have a strict skincare routine and you might still suffer from acne. Stress really affects us in so many ways. Finding something that centers you, something that de-stresses you is crucial for your skin. Living a high stress life no only ages you fast but it shortens your life spam. I suggest that you find something that you can do every single day that will help control your stress level. Girls night once a week doesn’t count. A big vacation at the end of the year doesn’t count. Those things although they are amazing it won’t help you with your every day stress. Choose something that is simple to do, something that takes little effort, no money and that doesn’t take too much time. For some people that is meditating, listening to your favorite song that always makes you smile, talking to your best friend over the phone, or letting go of relationships that doesn’t serve you, that doesn’t uplift you. For me it’s keeping a gratitude journal. I might of mentioned this in a different blog post but writing 5 things I am grateful for first thing in the morning allows me to start my day in the most positive way. I wake up a few minutes before I get the kids up for school and I write down my blessings. Sometimes it’s one word, sometimes it’s a sentence and sometimes it’s a whole page. What matters is that I found something that works for me. My life/my skin is better when I do this daily.

Warm water with lemon or lime, cucumber juice and foods rich in vitamin A and lowering your stress will give you the skin of your dreams (or close enough)! I guess I should mention the obvious…. Aside from the cucumber juice you should only drink water and I mean lots of water throughout the day. Replace all your sugary drinks for water for a few days (for ever). Stop with the diet coke addiction.
If you follow me on Instagram you saw the improvement my skin made in a few days. I was acne free by Friday and felt confident during the shoot. Of course I could have just covered my imperfections with makeup but makeup is not a long term fix. It’s important for me to feel confident and that means with or without makeup. If you take care of your gut you will be rewarded with beautiful skin!
